4rth year Communication Design student at NID AP.

This project was undertaken as my pre-graduation project. The case study explains my process - from understanding the system and user problems to making it easier to use.

βŒ— Context

Magnit’s Vendor Management System (VMS) is an enterprise platform that supports the full lifecycle of contingent workforce management across Managers, MSPs, Suppliers, and Workers. It is a mature, highly configurable system with deep integrations across Magnit’s broader product ecosystem.

This project focuses specifically on the MSP view. MSP users act as both client-facing partners and high-volume operators - guiding hiring managers through complex requests while executing large volumes of operational tasks. Their workflows demand speed and confidence, making usability critical in such a complex system.

βŒ— Project Overview

This project is focused on improving the usability of the Configuration section within Magnit’s VMS. My scope involved understanding existing user workflows, identifying systemic usability issues, and exploring an AI-assisted approach to reduce complexity and task effort.

πŸ›Έ Problem Statement

<aside>

Despite being used by expert users , the configuration section requires high cognitive effort. Users heavily rely on memory, prior knowledge and manual workarounds resulting in increased time spent, error risks and hesitation while making changes.

πŸ›Έ Research Inputs

I was given the opportunity to be part of several user interviews, and I also had access to internal meeting and interview notes shared by the team. I analyzed all of these inputs together to identify patterns and understand where users were struggling within the config section.
